Cathead Biscuits
8 cups flour
4 Tbsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
8 Tbsp. sugar
1 cup cold butter, cubed (or 1 1/3 cup melted butter)
4 cups cold buttermilk
1 cup sour cream
1. Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar.
Cut in the butter or add the melted butter.
(*It comes out better with the cold, solid butter)
3. In a separate bowl, mix the buttermilk and sour cream.
Mix into the dry ingredients.
4. With a 1/3 cups measure, drop dough onto baking sheet.
Leave some space between each biscuit.
5. Bake for 15 minutes - until golden brown. Internal temperature is 200 degrees.
Should make about 24.
